Your LRC Account

You have your very own LRC account which you can use to check due dates, renew your books, and much more!

 

Use this page to find out how to sign in and get started using your LRC account.

Signing in

Here's how you can sign in to your LRC account and how to find out your Library PIN:

  1. Go to LRC Search. You can find it on the Quick Links on the homepage of this Guide, or at don.ac.uk/lrc.

  2. Click 'Log In' at the top of the page. 

  3. Enter your DC number and your Library PIN.

    Your library PIN is made up of your inititals, your date of birth (DDMMYY) followed by a hash (#). e.g. ab230697#

Renewing books online

You can use your LRC Account to keep track of when your books are due to be returned. Here's how you can avoid overdue fines by renewing your books online:

 

  1. Sign into LRC Search and go to 'My Account

     LRC Seach My Account

  2. Select the 'Checkouts' tab
  3. Tick the box next to the items you want to renew
  4. Click the 'Renew' button

Placing a Hold

If you want to use a book which someone else has borrowed you can place a 'Hold' on it. This means that when the other person returns the book we will placed it on our 'reserved' shelf for you to pick up. Here's how you can place a Hold:

  1. Log in to LRC Search and find the item you want to reserve.
  2. Click the 'Place Hold' button.
  3. Wait for an email notifying you that it is ready to collect. You must pick up your item within 7 days before they will be put back on the shelf or issued to the next person in the Hold queue.
  4. You can monitor or cancel your Holds by going to the 'Holds' tab on your LRC Account.
